Befriend provides one-to-one volunteer befriending to people all across the London Boroughs of Ealing and Hounslow who are experiencing isolation and loneliness
One of Befriend’s trained volunteers supports the person being cared for by spending time in their home. This might include having a chat or playing cards, or they might go out for a walk or to a coffee shop.
The Centre for Armenian Information & Advice (CAIA) provides a warm welcome for all Armenians and their friends, and offers welfare educational, and cultural services to support disadvantaged members of the Armenian community.
On Fridays the Centre provides delicious and sociable lunches where people can enjoy food, music and chat. It may also be possible to arrange to be collected and taken to the lunch and brought home by minibus, depending on availability.
Dementia Concern supports people living with dementia and their carers to live as independently as possible by providing dementia care services and practical help.
Dementia Concern hosts weekly social clubs - Weekend Day Care and a Thursday Group for more active people with dementia. They offer people with dementia a chance to socialise in a safe environment and offer respite for their carers. There are also twice-weekly music therapy groups and digital skills training.
Ealing Carers Hub provides practical and emotional support to unpaid carers, empowering them to actively manage the challenges they face and thrive.
The Hub has a number of trained volunteers able to support the person being cared for by spending time in their home. This might include having a chat or playing cards, or they might go out for a walk or to a coffee shop. The Hub also runs Boccia sessions – a paralympic sport similar to bowls – with a trained coach.
Southall Day Centre is part of Peabody Housing. It provides a relaxed and friendly atmosphere where people from Asian and other local communities can enjoy activities whilst their carer takes a break.
On Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays the Centre runs a wide range of activities including a women’s social group, song and dance sessions, card and board games, men’s social group, English, digital and maths classes, arts and crafts, and gentle exercise sessions.
The Asian Health Agency (TAHA) is dedicated to delivering high quality holistic health & social care services, community empowerment & strategic alliances with voluntary private & public sectors to address discrimination & inequalities.
TAHA provides a companionship, sitting and escorting service as part of its wider support to carers.
